The inside of a huge extinct volcano, half is an expanse of sandy gravel for dragons to take off and land. The other half is the weyr lake and a large fenced pasture for herdbeasts.

Where the weyr inhabitants go to eat, drink, or just hang out. At special Feasts, seating is by wing, but otherwise its a free-for all.

A smaller crater below the main bowl, it has its own feeding grounds and a river for dragon bathing, as well as smaller ground level weyrs.

One level below the Hatching Grounds, and attached to it be a small, usually locked stairwell. This is where Candidates live and learn.

A large, dimly lit cavern filled with soft but hot Sands where dragon eggs are laid. This is actually underground and can only be accessed on dragon wing via a large opening in Weyr Rim.

Skies above the weyr. Flights take place here.

Individual weyrs for dragonriders. Wingleaders and seconds have their own bathing rooms. Everyone else has to share with up to four other riders.

The rest of the weyr, sprawling corridors, many dark and unused, this is also where offices, the creche, and the infirmary are.

The dark and quiet area of the lower cavern where the wherhandlers live.

The thirteen Starholds where the secretive Skylords hide the existence of dragonkind.

Where the regular people of Pern live. The major and minor holds have become towns and villages surrounding the original holding, while cotholds are still just isolated farms

Where crafters live and work.

Anywhere else on Pern, the wild lands, or the seas.
